I was angry and dismayed by an article by The Guardian recently on autistic families, and spelling boards. It was a derisive piece that dismissed the reality of many autistic families, condemning the podcast ‘The Telepathy Tapes’ and the use of S2C spelling boards. It was a backward step for the autism movement. It was paternalism disguised as care - and it was way off the mark.
